Welcome everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to celebrate the end of a beautiful summer with me and thank you to Schweppes for their support of tonight’s supper club. Some of you know that I’ve been wanting to host a supper club for years now and probably heard me speaking about this before Covid. I’m thrilled to finally have the opportunity to do so, and of course, to share the evening with such a special group of friends. I am honoured to be working with my very talented childhood friend, Tarisa, who we’re lucky to have as our chef. Tarisa doesn’t like tooting her horn and is very humble, so please allow me to do it for her. We have known each other since we were 8 years old, we attended culinary school together and even worked alongside each other in our first chef internship. Tarisa went on to become a private chef for countless celebrities, including Kevin Hart and Ludacris, and she recently left her position at Google to the culinary team at the Barbican. Recently, she won the Tilda Chef Team of the Year Award and Stop Food Waste Day Culinary Challenge. I’m looking forward to the dinner, as I’m sure you all are too especially hearing about Chef Tarisa.
I’d like to thank Schweppes for partnering with me on tonight's supperclub; Schweppes has re-defined partnership for me; their approach has allowed me to express myself and my creativity fully and freely to cultivate this evening. Thank you to the team for your trust in me and for a partnership, I can only describe as aspirational.
For those of you who don’t know (I’m sure most), Schweppes was born in 1783 by a Jacob Schweppes in his quest to make carbonated water. At this time, Schweppes was sold as a remedy for stomach pain and other common ailments. Fast forward to now, and Schweppes create both flavoured and unflavoured tonic and soda waters used that are the vital foundations of our favourite beverages.
The cocktails here tonight are inspired by the rich history of Schweppes and the new flavours available, like the Grapefruit tonic or Glass Bottled Elderflower. There's a few to try so if you need help please use the menu on your place-setting for the perfect pairing.
Please everyone raise a toast to Schweppes, Tarisa, and to each other in celebration of vitality and unity that is our theme for the night."
