No.3 Upper Riverside Greenwich Peninsula

Imagine living in a home where a Thames Clipper takes you straight to your front door. A home that is surrounded by nature, as well as art, design, technology and is in one of the wealthiest capitals in the world. A home that is modern but creative and says, you’re a part of the future.

Last week I was invited to an exclusive showcase and was among a select few to experience what it’s really like inside the new No 3. Upper Riverside, Greenwich Peninsula apartments.  We spent the afternoon with Sophie Ashby, who was behind the interior design of the new 126 apartments, and she gave an inspiring talk on what it was like taking on a project of this size and prestige.

During the project with Knight Dragon, Studio Ashby also worked with five British craftsman to create an eclectic range of handcrafted pieces, each inspired by this unique riverside setting. The
Peninsula Collection recently launched and we sat at the Peninsula Ash dining table which is one of the pieces designed with the Galvin Brothers. She talked us through her inspirations behind the furnishings used in each apartment, the colour schemes and the importance of the final
details.

Upper Riverside is one of Greenwich’s seven new neighbourhoods and sits next to London’s exciting new Design District for a unique new London lifestyle. In close proximity to the Upper Riverside’s landscaping is the Ravensbourne Digital College and the NOW gallery, which has been designed by Marks Barfield Architects.

Encompassing the works of the award-winning GROSS MAX, the electric Interiors by Tom Dixon’s
Design Research Studio, State of Craft and Studio Ashby - the polarity of style here is intentional,
to be celebrated.

JUST TWO MINUTES’ WALK FROM THE TUBE, UPPER RIVERSIDE BOASTS A MIX OF
INNOVATIVE ARCHITECTURE, RESTAURANTS AND BARS, AND A REVOLVING CULTURAL
PROGRAMME – ALL BORDERED BY A TREE-LINED PATHWAY ALONG THE THAMES.
“With everything at your fingertips, you have the right to live impulsively. On the north-
east of the Peninsula, Upper Riverside is where you can watch life on the Thames go by –
from the comfort of your home, at a river-facing café or by taking a restorative,
revitalising walk. Landscape architect Eelco Hooftman of GROSS MAX has composed
green spaces that draw in from the waterfront, creating interventions between the
buildings and allowing the open river to integrate with the architecture. With space at its
very foundation, Upper Riverside is an open, welcoming place to be.
