The Coral-Eclipse at Sandown Park Racecourse

This year will be my first time attending the Sandown Park coral horserace eclipse event, and I was lucky enough to secure a sophisticated and luxurious private box! Gates open at approx.11:00 for Sandown Park’s most prestigious summer raceday. The racing begins at 13:20 and ends at around 16:40.

More than 95% of modern racehorses descend from Eclipse, born in 1764, the horse that features race on 8 July @Sandownpark is named after.

The Eclipse was first run in 1886 for £10,000, making it the most valuable horse race ever run in Britain at the time. I thought if I'll be attending my first horse race it has to be the best and Horseracing is second biggest spectator sport in Britain, c.6 million attend the races each year, and since I'll be attending for the first time I decided to choose the best fixture and that means I have to make sure I look my best – no pressure!

I am excited to see these horses go. Did you know Frankel, a racehorse that was retired to stud at the age of four having gone unbeaten in 14 races between 2010 and 2012, isvalued at over £100 million based in stud fees – this is more than some of the world’s top footballers

After the races, i'll be finishing the day off in style in the parade ring and enjoying a DJ set from Radio presenter, Scott Mills.
