Noveltea The Worlds First Alcoholic Tea ( Making Cocktails At Home)

There is a saying "Tea to the English is really a picnic indoors." At the moment, we don't have the luxury of lounging in our favourite cafe or bar. So we must create a similar atmosphere in the comfort of our home.

It's safe to say I take my beverages very seriously, whether it's morning coffees, afternoon teas or evening whiskies. I appreciate the time and effort that goes into making my refreshments taste as they should.

This week my partner and I have decided to explore Noveltea. Noveltea is the world's first alcohol-infused tea.

Noveltea flavours range from the quintessentially British combination of Earl Grey and gin to an exotic pairing of Moroccan green mint tea and white rum.

While coffee will always be my first love, after lunch, my low caffeine tolerance usually has me drinking tea for the rest of the day. Today I decided to spice things up a bit and made a tea mojito using Noveltea's green mint tea and white rum for an afternoon treat.

I didn't have a tumbler, so I improvised using a large glass bottle. I filled the bottle with ice and added mint leaves and grapefruit to bring out the tea's flavour. A few shakes later, and I have the perfect afternoon cocktail.

Both my partner and I loved it. The light, citrusy flavours paired perfectly with the mint, and there was the perfect amount of sweetness.

As the evenings are still a bit cold, there's no better way to warm up than with a warm drink. Luckily, Noveltea's beverages can be served hot, too.

I heated their original flavour, Earl Grey & gin, to heat it, in a saucepan until it was warm. When serving it warm, be careful not to heat it too long, or it will remove the alcohol.

Once heated, all you need to do is pour into a teacup. I've added grapefruit again to enhance the tea's natural flavours.

This hot cup of tea is perfect for lounging next to the fireplace with, sipping while browsing the web, or watching a beautiful sunset.
